Untangling the interweb
You don't want to be bamboozled, made to feel stupid or have something explained, and explained, and explained. It's not really that difficult, after all. Yes, technology
moves quickly and the 'it site' of today is the graveyard of tomorrow but some things stay the same - people return to businesses that
treat them well and word-of-mouth endorsement is the most valuable form
of marketing.
We will focus on content, strategy and technique Content is central to all success online and it makes everything else so much simpler when this comes first. We will talk about content creation and content curation and how to consistently produce and locate useful, compelling content that will grow a following. Strategy is the big picture, long-term thinking behind your business. We will spark ideas for you to develop over time that will ultimately become the 'why' behind everything you do. Technique is the daily how-what-when-where-why behind all the actions we take to grow our online followings and convert them into raving fans and repeat clients. Who is this course for? This course is specifically for yoga teachers - both studio owners and managers, and jobbing yoga teachers - who want to learn how to marketing themselves online. Whether you have a website or not, there are numerous sites and techniques that you can start on today to grow your classes. We will also talk about other ways to use your skills to get your message out there using your unique passion and innate talents. How tech-savvy do I need to be? We are coming from an average computer user's knowledge with some basic ability will be assumed. We cannot go into the finer points in too much detail because we have a lot of material to cover and want to make this course relevant for all participants. About the presenter, Yoga Reach Director Brook McCarthy This course started life as part of 'the business and marketing of yoga' module taught to yoga teacher trainees. Typically, 200hr yoga teacher trainees receive two hours - half on business, half on marketing - and 500hr teacher trainees receive six hours. Once I begin the online marketing section talking about Facebook, I'm immediately peppered with questions and the pace slows! Yoga trainees can see how the popularity of Facebook and other online sites, combined with their accessibility (read: free), makes them particularly relevant to those with a small budget for marketing. I'm very pleased to launch this course to Sydney yogis for the first time. More than anything, I'd like to make it abundantly clear that it is the MESSAGE before the MEDIUM. Concentrate on what you want to say and who you are saying it to and the rest will follow. Read more about me. |
